“It is crucial to ensure a quality learning environment at early childhood development centers for the provision of holistic early childhood development (ECD) opportunities to children (age 3 to 5 years) across Pakistan, especially in communities that are void of any such facilities.” Mr. Edward Davis, senior education advisor to the Department for International Development (DFID) said during his visit to an early childhood development (ECD) center in Golra established under Parwaan Preschool – A School Readiness Program.
Mr. Javed Malik, education advisor DFID, appreciated the high quality of learning provided by Ms. Muneeba Imran at her “Parwaan Preschool Center”. While interacting with children at the center, he was impressed by their use of phonics, their knowledge of emergent mathematics (numeracy) skills and their general exuberance and confidence. Ms. Mehnaz Akber Aziz, president Parwaan National Center of Excellence on ECCE, emphasized that these children had no access to any such facility within their community previously. Parwaan Preschool centers have improved learning outcomes of these children adding to their school readiness, she added.
